Sr. Geraldine Hillebrand was born to William and Louise Sunderman Hillebrand and given the name Hilda at her baptism. Hilda was one of three children, a brother and a sister who became Sr. Louise Hillebrand, OSB. Hilda entered St. Walburg Monastery on December 28, 1924 and received the habit and a new name on June 25, 1925. She made first profession on August 29, 1926 and final profession on August 29, 1929. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on July 2, 1951 and Golden on June 19, 1976.
Sr. Geraldine was a teacher for over forty-five years in the following schools:
- Villa Madonna Academy (Grade 1,2,3) 1926-27
- St. Therese (Grades 1 & 2) 1927-30; (Grades 7 & 8) 1952-55
- St. Anthony, Forest Hills (Grades 1-4) 1932-38
- St. Benedict (Grade 5) 1935-42; (Grade 7) 1943-47
- Good Counsel Kindergarten 1947-48
- St. Joseph, Crescent Springs (Grades 6-8) 1948-51
- Sts. Peter & Paul, Danville (Grades 7 & 8) 1951-5
- Blessed Sacrament (Grades 5,6,7) 1955-72
Sr. Geraldine noted that in 1968 she taught the son of Kentucky representative Ken Harper, and one day she was surprised to receive a commission as a Kentucky Colonel from Representative Harper. She died on August 16, 1982.
