Sr. Lourdes Wulker was born to Henry and Anna Rickelmann Wulker and given the name Henrietta at her baptism. Henrietta entered St. Walburg Monastery on August 15, 1938 and received the habit and her new name on March 21, 1939. Sr. Lourdes made first profession on June 29, 1940 and final profession on June 29, 1943. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on June 19, 1965.

Many sisters remember the wonderful breads baked by Sr. Lourdes and the good smells permeating the monastery on these occasions. Her rye bread was special! Sr. Lourdes served as baker at the monastery from1938-1957. Then she moved to the Marydale Retreat House where she worked from 1957-60 and then back to the monastery. From 1962-1975 the sisters at St. Henry’s enjoyed Sr. Lourdes’ culinary skills. In 1975 she returned to the monastery where she assisted in the kitchen.

Sr. Lourdes died on March 24, 1982.
