Sr. Gregory was born to John and Pualine Guibilate Bordenave and given the names Cecilia Christina. Cecilia entered St. Scholastica Priory in Covington, Louisiana on August 23, 1925 and made profession in 1927. She transferred her vow of stability to St. Walburg Monastery in 1990.

Sr. Gregory served at various elementary schools in the New Orleans area from 1927 until her retirement from teaching in 1974. Letters from one of her former students expressing deep appreciation and affection, indicative of the estimate in which she was held by many, followed her to Villa Hills, Kentucky.

A person of jolly disposition and optimism, sr. Gregory was a happy addition to this monastery during the eight years of her residence here. Confined to bed for a very short period, Sr. Gregory died on the morning of Monday, July 1, 1996.
