Sr. Thecla Zembrodt was born to Frank and Therese Fromandi Zembrodt and given the name Bertha Theodora at her baptism. Her older sister, Sr. Cleta, was there to greet he when Bertha entered St. Walburg Monastery on December 8, 1929. She received the habit and her new name on August 30, 1930. Sr. Thecla made first profession on August 31, 1931 and final profession on August 13, 1934. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on July 2, 1956.

Sr. Thecla was a jolly person and a fine teacher. The following schools received her services: St. John Orphanage; St. Joseph, Crescent Springs; St. Therese; Holy Cross; Our Lady of Good Counsel, Hazard; St. Joseph, Covington; and St. Benedict.

While stationed at St. Benedict, Sr. Thecla suddenly became ill and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where she died on January 20, 959 at the age of fifty-four.
