On June 8th the community celebrated the service given by employees, independent contractors and volunteers at an Appreciation Luncheon. Sisters, nursing assistants, nurses, maintenance crew, and food service personnel mingled in the dining room to share stories and good food.
In times gone by the sisters might have prepared the meal. These days we rely on Maureen Smain, whose skill we give thanks for daily, to prepare a festive meal suited to many a taste.
Sr. Aileen led the prayer/blessing and all enjoyed the meal together. Sisters Aileen and Nancy then announced those being honored for significant years of service, and offered them a gift in remembrance.
- Kim Messer, for 25 years in food service
- Jo Franklin, nurse, for 15 years of service in the infirmary
- Becky Selm, for 15 years of service, first in the kitchen, now as nurse aide in the infirmary
- Trinity Tankersley, for 5 years of service in the infirmary as night nurse aide
Remembering those who work with us all year long gives us and them new life for the days and weeks to come. God is blessed in all these good times together. Thanks to everyone!
