Current Ministry and Interests: I am retired after teaching primary grades for 27 years and being an elementary school librarian for 25 years. I am currently the monastery sacristan and I enjoy this work very much. I also volunteer at our Madonna Manor Nursing Home.

Favorite Scripture quotation: “God holds me in the palm of his hand.”

Monastic Life at St. Walburg Monastery: We come together several times a day to chant or sing our Liturgy of the Hours (praying the psalms). We also come together for daily Eucharist. We meet for communal meals which are set at definite times. We live in a quiet environment.

What Benedictine women have to offer: We have various career choices: teachers, DRE directors, nurses and social workers are some of them. We offer prayers, hospitality, example and cheerfulness. We receive many prayer requests which are posted on our prayer board. Some people come to pray in our chapel during the day because it is such a quiet place and they know they are always welcome.
