Days of reflection & other spiritual opportunites: We offer two days of reflection--one in the fall and one in the spring--around a specific topic. Some previous days have been: A Great Cloud of Witnesses: the Communion of Saints, Show Us the Christ, Ancient Wisdom Alive Today: the Wisdom of St. Benedict. For Lent, 2012 we will have two evenings with Dr. Walter Brueggemann. the series is entitled The Cry of Truth that Makes Us Free. On Tuesday, March 6 at 7:15 he will speak on Weeping over Jerusalem and on Tuesday, March 27 at 7:15 he will speak on Public Pain and Social Imagination. the evenings will take place in the Monastery Chapel and close with Night Prayer, followed by a reception. Lectio Divina: an ancient monastic way of prayer that deepens one’s encounter with the Word of God in the Scripture. Sr. Justina Franxman offers scheduled lectio during the Advent and Lent seasons--usually on Tuesday evenings in the monastery Chapel. Call her at 859-331-6324 for information.
